Skinful Halloween 2010

When: Sat., Oct. 23, 8 p.m. 2010

A younger, wiser, and less coked-out Lindsay Lohan once said in a movie that “Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” But really, she doesn’t have to single out the ladies. Guys can do it too, as evidenced in a slightly graphic picture from last year’s Skinful Halloween of a bare-chested, jockstrap-wearing local celebrity that we have hanging on our wall. Promising to be bigger (it’s taking place on more than 12 acres of land) and better than ever before, this year’s party features live music from Dub Island and the Dubplates, Sol Driven Train, the Key of Q, Gaslight Street with Rusty Trombone, Torture Town, Mission Hill, Son of a Bad Man, the Spaced Invaders, M.O. Theory, and Son of Cane, plus plenty of DJs, including Jude, James Belk, Trail-Mix, Jake B, Rocky Horror, and more. There will also be roller derby girls, a burlesque troupe, an inner circus, a mechanical bull, jump castles (they’re not just for kids), capoeria, breakdancing, hay rides, and a glass eater. This year’s venue, the Brick House, will serve food (for purchase with cash) and have off-site parking with a shuttle. It’s also BYOB. Adults may not be able to trick or treat, but at least we can go to this. —Susan Cohen
