Spotlight Concert Series: Sunset Serenade

When: Fri., May 25, 8-9:30 p.m. 2012

"Summertime" in the summertime. At this free outdoor event, you'll hear selections from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, plus West Side Story and Rodeo, sung by two international opera stars.

Triple threat. At this performance, you get to experience all that the Charleston Symphony Orchestra has to offer. Which means not just the orchestra (conducted by Joseph Young, the resident conductor of the Phoenix Symphony), but the spiritual ensemble and the gospel choir too.

Ain't misbehavin'. There aren't many people who can say they got to experience Porgy and Bess just blocks from the real-life Catfish Row. It's how Gershwin would have wanted you to see it.
