Next generation. Now in its seventh year, this regular offering from the College of Charleston's theater department features original plays written by students. So you can totally say you saw so-and-so's show before they were famous.
Perfect 10. Under the Lights is always a popular Piccolo offering, in part because of the accessible format. Each play comes in at right around 10 minutes, so if you don't like one, you just have to twiddle your thumbs and wait for the next. With so many plays packed into one night, you're bound to see something you love ... and something you hate — but that's the fun of it, right?
Bragging rights. A few of the pieces being presented this year are already award-winners. One play earned an honorable mention at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, another won a Franklin B. Ashley Award, and there's also a runner-up and winner of the Todd McNerney Student Award.
