Saturday’s RiverDogs game against the Hagerstown Suns will be anything but typical. Local organization Chase After a Cure, which raises money for children’s cancer research, is currently selling tickets for the game, with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit. The funds raised at the game will go toward the only childhood cancer research lab in the state. “Chase After a Cure has partnered with the RiverDogs before, and those efforts helped raise $1,000 to $2,000,” says Adam White, Chase’s director of development. When you’re not watching our local team hitting homers, you can enjoy face painting, a jump castle, games, concessions, and more. Childhood cancer survivor Cooper Cates will be throwing out the first pitch.
