Sea dogs, pull out those sails. Through April 11, the Charleston Harbor and the Marina in Mt. Pleasant are hosting a series of boat races and special events for Charleston Race Week. It is an annual regatta for One-Design racing sailboats (20-70 feet in length) as well as PHRF and IRC racing sailboats (22-70+ feet in length). A slue of sleek, carbon-fiber racing boats flooded into Charleston waters earlier this week to participate in this premier event, which started April 8. More than 16 world champions sailed in, including some national and even Olympic standouts.

Offshore and inshore races kicked off earlier today with only two more races to go. There will also be fun bocce ball and cornhole tournaments every night followed by beach parties featuring open bars and live music with Two 3 Ways and Calvin Taylor. CRW will announce the winner of the race at the Awards Ceremony on Sun. April 11 from 4-6 p.m.
