Tater Tots and Beer Dinner

When: Mon., Sept. 16, 7 p.m. 2013

Fancy beer dinners happen all the time, but we bet you’ve never been to one quite like this before. On Monday, the Palmetto Brewing Co. hosts a special tater tot and beer dinner at the Recovery Room. Chefs from the area will be putting their spin on the late-night favorite during a five-course meal with featured beer pairings. “Beer dinners sometimes have an air of pomp to them. Our goal was to have something different. Beer is an everyman beverage and we wanted to reduce a meal down to a basic element,” says event coordinator Chris Winn. “We’re going to add interesting levels to tater tots. It’s going to be a fun foodie experience without getting too crazy. But, actually, it’s going to get real crazy.” The Recovery Room is no stranger to tots, as they are prepared daily by chef Rob Crowden who will serving one of the courses. Cory Burke from the Green Door, Brannon Florie from the Rarebit, Todd Garrigan from the Craftsmen, and Will Fincher will also be on hand with potatoey goodness. You can expect the whole gambit of flavors to be represented, from spicy and savory to the more traditional. With only 50 tickets, this event is going to sell out fast. If you’re not convinced yet, just know that all proceeds will be going to Toys for Tots (get it?)
