Ted’s b-day party was all about the quality




Ted’s Butcherblock’s three year anniversary party was about as laid-back as the gourmet meat shop. Inside the store, people leisurely filled up on wine, sampled artisanal bacon, and snacked on buttery crostinis with lavish toppings like sweet and syrupy tea rose petal preserves. Outside, they had the backyard buffet roarin’ with all-you-can-eat pulled pork, potato salad, and red cabbage coleslaw. It looked like autumn on a plate. Members of the New Music Collective provided funky and mellow jazz tunes, as Ted Dombrowski worked out his biceps pumping a keg of Coast beer on the lazy, overcast fall afternoon. Hunks of stringy, minimally spiced brisket that had spent 20 hours cooking on the Big Green Egg were passed around on party platters. The girls from Three Smart Cookies even came by to hand out free samples. Everything from the food to the music showed Dombrowski’s commitment to creating a community-minded grocery with a sense of refinement that is always fun. It’s places and parties like Ted’s that remind you there’s comfort in quality.
