When: Fri., July 8, 7-9 p.m. 2016
Join local artist and yoga teacher Michelle Seay at Urban Flow Yoga this Friday for her art exhibition, Tethered. The exhibition features Seay’s sketches — ink washes of streetscapes, oceanscapes and people lost at sea. “The drawings are sort of a combination of humor and life,” says Seay. “They are based in reality but definitely have a fantastical element.” The ink washes will be suspended on wires hanging from beams, and will be bumping into and interacting with each other, giving the exhibition a sense of movement. “The exhibition is about the space as well as the drawings. [Urban Flow Yoga] is sort of an unconventional space, which is perfect for this type of show,” says Seay. Exposed overhead beams and a converted warehouse-like space add a distinct character to this dynamic show. Guests can show up a little bit early for happy hour flow featuring live music.
