On December 30, the Shultz family of Goose Creek was devastated when their home and all of their belongings were destroyed in a fire, which also badly injured dad Jeremy, 37, a freelance cameraman for CBS Sports. The rest of the family escaped the fire unharmed. Shultz has been undergoing numerous surgeries in Augusta, Ga. and faces a long journey of rehabilitation. Nearly his entire body is covered in second and third degree burns.
On Mon. Jan. 31 from 5-9 p.m., the North Charleston Texas Roadhouse will be holding a fundraising event for the Jeremy Shultz Care Fund. A portion of the food sales from the evening will be donated to help pay the mounting medical bills. From now until Jan. 31, the restaurant will also be accepting clothing and toy donations. Cinnamin Shultz, 11, wears a girl's size 14 and a size 4-1⁄2 shoe while her brother Dallas, 4, wears a size 5T and a size 11 shoe. Dallas loves trains and his mother, Maryann wears a large or extra-large. If you can't attend the fundraiser, you can donate to the Jeremy Shultz Care Fund at any First Federal Bank in Charleston.
Texas Roadhouse is located on 2130 Melnick Dr. in North Charleston. For more information, call Shultz Fund Coordinator Jamie Locklear at (843)-345-5733.
