Thank God, Genrevolta, Chris Thomas

When: Fri., July 30 2010

Based out of Columbia, noisy punk/hardcore quintet Thank God celebrate the official release of their second studio album with a show at the Tin Roof on Saturday night. Over the last year and a half, the band recorded Ice/Age at the Jam Room in Columbia. Much of it maintains their howling mix of hardcore, classic punk, and screamo styles. The disc landed on Exotic Fever Records, which states in a press release, “Ice/Age captures the frenetic energy of Thank God’s live show with ferocious blasts interlaced with moments of hypnotic post-rock dynamics. With Thank God completing their first full-length, the band looks ahead to more non-stop touring.” Thank God embarks on a summer tour of the Midwest and East Coast immediately after the Charleston show. Local Tick-Tock artists Genrevolta and Chris Thomas share the Tin Roof bill. —T. Ballard Lesemann
