Are you a moron? People who buy tickets to this show are admitting themselves to be utter morons. If you're OK with that, then this one-act comedy revue is the show for you.
Playing to the crowds (sorta). There's a whole category of Spoleto-goer that does zero research, who buys tickets and shows up ignorant of whether there will be (offensive) language or (even more offensive) nudity. They are overwhelmingly rich, old, and white. Most of the festival is geared toward these people, and this show kind of makes fun of them while playing to them at the same time, which is kind of brilliant.
It's funny. The performers don't really need you to buy a ticket to see this romp through our local history, because plenty of grey-haired tourists will have their butts in those seats come show time. That's the appeal of the title: Some people will show up actually thinking they are going to see a real historical piece. Won't they be surprised.
