Strictly acoustic and leaning more toward traditional bluegrass than some in the so-called jamgrass genre, the Emmitt-Nershi band pick and strum with the kind of fire and fluidity that could put a grin on the face of even the most staunch purist. Led by former String Cheese guitarist and frontman Bill Nershi and former Leftover Salmon singer/mandolinist Drew Emmitt, this combo formed only two years ago, and they’ve already earned an energetic and loyal following. While based in bluegrass music, Emmitt, Nershi, Andy Thorn (banjo), and Tyler Grant (bass) actually veer into a variety of acoustic styles. Before the ENB’s headlining set in the main room, Molly Rose Reed and Eleanor Underhill from the Barrel House Mamas join Moses Atwood and Tennessee Jed on the back deck for a free jam session at 5 p.m.
