The fifth annual food truck fest will feature 20 food trucks, eight bartenders serving up Holy City and New Belgium beer, mimosas, and wine, and a stage for live music. Cory Burke, the event’s organizer and the owner of Roti Rolls food truck, expects to see about 7,000 attendees this year. Wowza. “We quadrupled our order for alcohol,” he assures us. And the fest has expanded in other ways too, adding parking spaces, porta potties, and tables for ID checkers. The festival started in Marion Square five years ago but Burke says that city regulations prohibited the event from serving alcohol which is, in our opinion, totally not OK. “The city hates food trucks,” says Burke, “But we’re here to stay.” And we couldn’t be happier. Listen to live music from the Igoe Sisters, Funk You Folly, and Dante’s Camaro while enjoying bites from trucks like Immortal Lobster, Platia, Dashi, Bac’n me Crazy, Pink Bellies, and more. Burn some calories by bouncing in jump castles and shooting skeet with a laser gun. Yes, you read that right — there will be 50 laser guns available and for $5 guests can shoot 50 rounds of plastic skeet.
