The Heyward Faction, Tickle Switch

When: Thu., Dec. 8 2011

Newly formed local rock trio the Heyward Faction — singer/guitarist Bradley MacLean, drummer Patrick Queen, and bassist/singer Mike Dumas — formed earlier this year as a “three piece ball of energy.” All three are members of blues-rock/Americana band Skye Paige and the Original Recipe. So far, the Heyward Faction have brainstormed a set of blues-inspired, punk-tinged, red-blooded rock originals and a few obscure covers. “We noticed a great chemistry and decided we needed to play together between Skye gigs,” says McLean. “In my mind, it was going to be more of a cover-type of band, but we found that we had more fun playing originals. These guys are powerful players, so it inspires me to write. Style-wise, it’s kinda X-meets the Police-meets-Weezer at Thorogood’s house.” MacLean previously fronted the Dellortos. Queen and Dumas also play in local punkabilly trio the Defilers. The Heyward Faction recently kicked off studio sessions for a debut collection. Local band Tickle Switch shares the bill at the Tin Roof. Music starts at 10 p.m.
