The Holy City Heartbreakers

When: Thu., June 24 2010

Attention Tom Petty fans: If you can’t catch a show during Petty’s summer tour behind the new album Mojo, a local conglomeration under the moniker The Holy City Heartbreakers plan to cover plenty of musical ground during their tribute to the veteran songwriter at the Pour House on Thurs. June 24. Led by local singer/guitarist Sadler Vaden (of rock trio Leslie), the band features bassist Jason Fox, drummer Jack Burg, and multi-instrumentalists Josh Kaler, John Hager, and Michael Trent. The Heartbreakers plan to deliver respectful renditions and wild reworkings of tunes from Petty’s late-’70s and early-’80s days (Damn the Torpedoes and Hard Promises), through the Traveling Wilburys stuff and his later-era/Jeff Lynn-produced hits (Full Moon Fever and Into the Great Wide Open). Vaden has the chops to pull this off okay. —T. Ballard Lesemann
