Boone Hall couldn’t have picked a better band to play their new summer concert series. The Little River Band’s music epitomizes the sultry summers of my ’70s childhood with soft rock classics, like “Reminiscing” and “Take It Easy On Me,” played in the background as the adults got drunk around the pool and the kids chased fireflies and played flashlight tag deep into the night. LRB had some great roller rink tunes too, like “The Night Owls” and “Lonesome Loser.” You could even put them on the love song mixtape alongside slow tunes by Bread, Styx, Steely Dan, and REO Speedwagon. A perfect all-around band from the ’70s. Of course, the lineup bears little resemblance to the original one. You won’t hear original lead singer Glenn Shorrock or even his replacement John Fornham. Today’s lineup consists of Wayne Nelson (bass, lead vocals), Stephen Housden (lead guitar), Greg Hind (guitar, vocals), Chris Marion (keyboards, vocals), Mel Watts (drums), and Rich Herring (guitars, vocals). Gates open at 7 p.m. (No coolers or pets allowed).
Price: $35, $29.50, $20
