The annual March Madness Battle of the Bands came to a conclusion at A Dough Re Mi last Saturday. Savage Tongues, The Shaniqua Brown, The Makeshift, and The Healing — the four unsigned local bands who won each round in March — performed one set apiece. Congratulations to The Makeshift, who won the $500 grand prize (plus a big cut of the door money that night).

"It wasn't easy to judge," says organizer Stuart Johnson. "The score range at the end was six points between the winner and the lowest scoring band. The Shaniqua Brown, The Savage Tongues, and The Healing were all awesome but The Makeshift delivered the same kind of great set that they always do. They always deliver a tight and professional show. As always with the March Madness Battle, the big winner was the audience because they saw four bands do their best for only $5."
