The 50th Annual Coastal Carolina Fair wrapped up this weekend at the Exchange Park in Ladson. Headlining acts such as Charlie Daniels , the Drifters , and the Marvelettes were followed by fireworks each night.
On Friday night, Toronto’s Broken Social Scene played an epic set at the Music Farm. With their ever-changing lineup, they create a unique show both musically and visually.
On Saturday, the American Heart Association’s Lowcountry Heart Walk — presented locally by MUSC Heart & Vascular Center — began in downtown Charleston. The event, which had over 4,500 participants, raised money for cardiovascular research and education.
Also on Saturday afternoon, bluegrass lovers gathered at Mullet Hall for Harvest Fest 2006. Featured acts included Blue Plantation , the Hungry Monks , Yee Haw Junction , Flatt City , and Sounds of Grass . Saturday evening was the Halsey Gallery ’s Tokyo Moon membership gala. It began with a performance by Quentin Baxter and guest artists in the Recital Hall, continued with a look at the Force of Nature exhibition, and ended with a full moon sake toast.
