The Stanford Prison Experiment

When: Fri., July 31 2015

This film is a reenactment of true events which occurred during a psychology study that went shockingly wrong in 1971. To examine the source of abusive behavior in the prison system, Stanford University professor Dr. Philip Zimbardo cast 24 student volunteers as prisoners and guards in a simulated jail. The results turned out to be shockingly horrifying as middle-class undergraduates turned into drunk-with-power sadists and submissive victims in just a few days resulting in an early termination of the project. Directed by Kyle Alvarez, this chilling thriller based on actual events shows the true power and effects of imprisonment.
