When: Mon., July 9, 5:30-8:30 p.m. 2012
Here comes the calm after the storm. On July 9, Jason Hackenwerth’s The Tempest exhibition will mark its final day in a closing celebration hosted by the Redux Contemporary Art Center. A St. Louis native, Hackenwerth currently lives in New York City, where he is known for exhibitions involving his oversized balloon sculptures. At the closing celebration, there will be an in-depth conversation with Redux Executive Director Janie Askew, where Hackenwerth’s art will be explored and analyzed. “It’s the perfect event for any art collector,” Askew says. “The silent auction provides a unique opportunity to bid on art that is typically only available in larger cities.” There will also be a silent auction of Hackenwerth’s pieces, along with light hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The proceeds from the auction will benefit Redux’s future exhibitions, as well as educational and outreach planning. And while you’re soaking in the exhibit, the Local Honeys will provide live music for the event.
Price: $5/members, $10/non-members
