The hard-working and stylish Travis Mann Band will make their way to Charleston this Saturday for a swingin’ show at the Windjammer. With diverse musical influences like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, the Beatles, and Nirvana, the quintet mixes genuine rockabilly with contemporary rock. Lead singer and guitarist Travis Mann was born and raised in Lafayette, La. He first laid hands on a guitar at age 13, and he’s been playing ever since. While he attended college at Western State and Mesa State, he played gigs all over Colorado and worked as an underground coal miner. After a year of touring with the John Cowan Band, Mann formed his own combo in Nashville in 2009 with Joe Fick on upright bass and Matt Lee on lead guitar. The group’s debut album, Poverty Sucks, made a splash in 2004. Their latest release is titled It’s Just My Turn.
