Based in Orlando, Fla. Thomas Wynn and the Believers are an up-and-coming force in the neo Southern rock movement. Led by singer/guitarist Thomas Wynn and sister/vocalist Olivia Wynn, the group handles a mix of melodic, jangly Tom Petty-esque pop-rock and gritty, riffy blues-rock. Wynn calls their sound “a spirited brand of rugged yet uplifting rock that’s sprinkled with Southern soul and R&B.” The Metromix Orlando describes the band’s mix of styles as “reminiscent of Levon Helm, Neil Young, and the Allman Brothers, but they still boldly radiate a sound and Southern charm all their own.” Wynn and the Believers are touring nationally in support of their sophomore album, Brothers and Sisters. Catch them on Sullivan’s Island at 9 p.m. this Saturday.
