Three Bad Jacks w/ The Defilers

When: Thu., Sept. 2 2010

So-Cal psychobilly band Three Bad Jacks make their way across the country this week, hitting Charleston for the first time. Fans of psychobilly know what to expect: fast, rockabilly-inspired mayhem on drums, electric guitar, upright bass — and upright hair. Hell, the lead singer is even named Elvis. The self-declared “bastard sons of rock ’n’ roll,” comprised of bassist Dave Eckles, drummer Kyle Helm, and the aforementioned singer/guitarist Elvis Suissa, arrive in support of their recently released sophomore album, Crazy in the Head, the band’s first full-length since 1999’s Made of Stone. Three Bad Jacks have also found recent success in the television world' songs have been featured on HBO’s True Blood and the upcoming Chris Kattan movie Wanted: Undead or Alive. While the band’s latest effort displays a higher level of maturity than their rougher-edged previous outing, fans should still expect to see a high-energy set, with local rockabilly favorites the Defilers opening. —Jansen Cumbie
