Visual arts fans are going to be busy tonight — there are three worthy art openings going on downtown.
Redux hosts We Pictured You Reading This from 6-9 p.m. The exhibition was organized by Brooklyn-based contemporary art journal Paper Monument. Participating artists include Munro Galloway, Dan Torop, Jon Pylypchuk, Amanda Trager, Dushko Petrovich, Alex Klein, Jessica Slaven, Corinna Schnitt, Roger White, Jessie LeBaron, James Howard, and David Kearns. There's a gallery discussion at 5:30 p.m. Check it out at 136 St. Philip St.
Scoop Studios hosts She Loves You, local artist Kenton James’ debut solo show. “The story arc of She Loves You reads like a study of relationships flashing by in black and white frames: the intentions, the expressions, the emotions, the conflicts, the resolutions,” according to Scoop. The show lasts from 5-8 p.m. at 57 1/2 Broad St.
Matthew Foreman presents a solo show at Spark from 6-9 p.m. Using a blend of vintage poster art and street styled stencil portraits, Foreman promises “many colorful and dynamic new experimental works.” Spark Studios is located at 12 Hagood St.
But that’s not all: Don’t forget the Half and Half show at 16 Penny on Saturday night, featuring cool screenprinted and letterpress art.
