Tommy Thunderfoot & The Accelerators

When: Tue., May 11 2010

Led by long-haired electric guitarist Tommy Thunderfoot, local blues-rock trio The Accelerators play a variety of traditional styles. They’ve established themselves in the scene as a fiery live act, handling a diverse set of standards, deep cuts, and originals. Thunderfoot — a veteran of annual Lowcountry Blues Bash, Piccolo Spoleto, and Lowcountry Blues Club concerts benefits, and events — has a soulful style in the vein of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Billy Gibbons, Eric Clapton, and Johnny Winter. “Bring your dancin’ shoes and drinkin’ money,” he says of his Tuesday evening gig at the West Ashley Home Team BBQ. “It’s been a while since we played and got to see our friends out partying on a school night.” The band welcomes special guest Regi Blue and others to the stage. Listen for a handful of originals from their recently released studio album 24 Hours. —T. Ballard Lesemann
