Asheville, N.C.-based hip-hop/electronic trio Two Fresh make their way to Charleston for a funky show. Comprised of 22-year-old twin brothers Kendrick and Sherwyn Nicholls and 23-year-old Colby Buckler, Two Fresh combines a variety of sounds and samples to create music that is described as “instrumental hip-hop … with a strong beat always at the cornerstone.” When asked how important the recent addition of Buckler as a live drummer has been to the band, Kendrick says that it has “defined the group’s sound.” He adds, “We get to mess with all sorts of mediums to track drums, but no matter what, we can’t mimic the intensity of seeing and hearing a [live] drummer with a recording.” Two Fresh has graced the Music Farm’s stage with Colorado-based producer Paper Diamond during past visits. For them, making music is addictive. “It’s the best feeling to have people listening and physically coming out to see us do what we do,” said Kendrick. They’ll share the Pour House stage with bass-heavy hometown DJ Intermixture.
