When: Sun., March 20, 7 p.m. 2016
New York City’s Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Co., the improv comedians from UCB Theatre, are back in town, performing with local sketch duo, Nameless Numberhead. Charles Carmody, director of the Charleston Music Hall says he’s excited to present the famous improv group that helped jumpstart the careers of Tina Fey, Paul Scheer, Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, and Amy Poehler. The flagship touring show is a 90-minute, unscripted, and totally improvised performance. The evening will open with a 25-minute set from Nameless Numberhead’s Henry Riggs and Maari Suorsa, two sketch comedians who delve into experimental comedy with original characters and strange scenarios. The couple moved here from Chicago last summer and have since made a name for themselves in the Charleston comedy scene, hosting Redux’s RIP City every month, a variety show featuring local comedians, writers, musicians, and more.
