When: Sat., June 30, 7-11 p.m. 2012
Sure, you’ve been to plenty of ’80s parties in your day. This ain’t your first rodeo. But how about an ’80s benefit party … on an aircraft carrier? Didn’t think so. The Victory Over Cancer party on the USS Yorktown will warm you up for a Fourth of July of eating hot dogs and making Roman candles into Siamese twins. Get ready for local food, live bands, and loads of cocktails — all ’80s style. Booty Call and the Lowcountry All-Stars will bust out some of the decade’s best jams for you to strut your stuff and pretend you look half as good as Tom Cruise circa 1986. Best of all, all the proceeds go toward local nonprofits Camp Happy Days and the Roper Foundation, which benefit families of children with cancer, so you can be proud to be an American.
