When: Sat., July 31 2010

Adrenaline junkies of the water sport variety should head to Trophy Lakes on Saturday for WakeFest. July’s WakeFest event is a collaboration between Trophy Lakes and the Pier’s Summer Soundsystem Tour, featuring reggae artists Ballyhoo and Mike Pinto. The daylong event includes three wakeboarding showcases put on by Trophy Lakes’ wakeboarding team and other professional wakeboarders. For $30, the athletically inclined can get in on the action with an all-day wakeboarding pass. If lying in the sun is more appealing to you than high-impact sports, skip the pass and enjoy the free show. Play some beach volleyball, spikeball, cornhole, or disc golf and listen to the live music while you tailgate. Food and drinks will be provided by Savory Sushi. And remember: Have fun checking out all of the half-naked athletes. —Kelly Smith
