Warren G w/ Uni, Kidz in the Hall, Righchus

When: Tue., Nov. 3 2009

Not to be confused with saxophone sensation Kenny G, this OG is pure West Coast hip-hop. Without Warren G, it’s unlikely Snoop Dogg would’ve ever been signed to Death Row Records, since Dr. Dre is Warren G’s stepbrother and Snoop’s childhood friend. His 1994 debut Regulate … G Funk Era won a Grammy thanks to “Regulate,” which sampled Michael McDonald’s “I Keep Forgettin’.” He recently performed in N.Y.C. on VH1’s Hip Hop Honors Awards as a tribute to Def Jam’s 25th Anniversary, and he doesn’t look to slow down anytime soon. His latest release, The G Files, features the likes of Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Ice Cube. The album already leaked out hit singles “Ringtone” and “Crush.” Joining Warren G at the Music Farm on Tuesday night will be rising hip-hop acts Uni and Kidz in the Hall, as well as local rapper Righchus.
