Waterfront Art Gallery 15 Year Grand Finale

When: Sat., Aug. 7, 6-9 p.m. 2010

After 15 years of business, the Waterfront Art Gallery is closing its doors. “Due to the current economic climate, fabulous artwork seems to be on the luxury list of most peoples’ budgets,” says Katherine DuTremble, president of the gallery. In honor of the closing, the gallery is hosting its final annual anniversary party on Aug. 7. The Grand Finale celebration is fittingly themed “Waterfront Gallery — Then and Now,” as both current and past members of the space will come together one last time. “All of the gallery members, past and present, are very proud of the successes we have had over the past 15 years as one of Charleston’s largest, most beautiful, and most diverse artist-owned galleries,” DuTremble says. The event features exhibitions by current and past members, music by Mary Taylor and Friends, and catering by Piggly Wiggly Seaside Farms. —Kelly Smith
