When: Sun., Dec. 6, 12-5 p.m. 2009
The Carolina Lowcountry chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting an afternoon to sample wines, taste gourmet foods from Lowcountry restaurants, purchase holiday gifts and bid on silent auction items. One-hundred percent of the silent auction proceeds and a portion of the ticket sales will benefit the American Red Cross, Carolina Lowcountry Chapter.
Boone Hall Plantation’s iconic Avenue of the Oaks will play host to the Wine Under the Oaks event.
The casual and elegant affair gives guests the chance to sample wines from Boone Hall Farms’ Wine Alley while dining on gourmet Lowcountry food.
Seel’s Fish Camp, Rita’s Seaside Grill, and Ladles Homemade Soups will be among those providing the bites. There will also be live music and a silent auction to benefit the American Red Cross, which includes jewelry, art, gift certificates, spa treatments, hotel stays, children’s toys, and more.
Besides the wines, the 265-year-old oak trees are the main attraction — they’ve appeared in the films The Notebook and North and South. This is also a great opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for your favorite wino. In addition to the food, wine, and music, admission gets you a free collectible Wine Under the Oaks glass.
