Isle of Palms venue Morgan Creek Grill (80 41st Ave.) kicks off a weekly songwriter series on the upper deck this weekend. It looks like they're trying to promote a variety of original artists in a scenic setting.
Local acoustic folk/blues/pop singer-songwriter Danielle Howle headlines the first installment of Wintertide Unplugged on Sat. Jan. 9. She shares the stage with indie-rock quartet A Fragile Tomorrow (they're buddies with Howle from the Awendaw Green scene).
On Sat. Jan. 16, the bill features Pamela Dale and Brodie Porterfield at 6 p.m.
Howle returns on Sat. Jan. 23 for a round with Doug Jones, Valerie Miller, and Morgan Creek regular Rene Russell at 6 p.m.
On Sat. Jan. 30, Dale returns alongside acoustic act Jonesalee. Admission is $5. Music goes from 6-10 p.m.
