I just heard about the whales that washed ashore on Sullivan's Island and had to be euthanized because the mama whale had swallowed a bag. It sickens me that so many people use the ocean as their trash can and the beach as their ash tray. Do they think their trash is just going to disappear? Don't they realize there's a whole nother world under the sea and how delicate our eco-system is? For them, I guess it's just too difficult to put their beer cans and plastic bottles in a trash can (god forbid they recycle). It's so much easier just to throw it off the side of the boat or leave it on the sand. That's what the tide's for, right? To wash away all your trash?
