I have finally had it... I have worked in the same pharmacy for over 6 years now and have finally had it with our local clinic physicians. Their prescriptions do not have a printed name of any sort, but they do have a line they have to "print" their name as well as a line they sign. I guess its not enough that we decipher, every day, these doctors handwriting but do I now have to decipher their "printed" name??? I would have to say that these doctors have uncommon names, to say the least, leaving no room to "guess" as to who it could possibly be. We are busy all day long and make calls to many doctors each day to clarify certain things on prescriptions, but it really pisses me off when we have no clue who the doctor is, even better the patient cant pronounce or tell us who the doctor is either. When we call the clinic who am I supposed to even ask for (Dr. Sh*tty-Handwriting)??? We are busy and they are always busy with their patients, so why the hell not simpify the process and "PRINT" your damn name so everyone can read it??? I am just begging those docs that may be reading this to consider how inconvenient it is to have to take a call, or have to call back a pharmacy because we could not read your name. You had to take time from your crazy day to simply tell us your name. I'm not even going to get on my soap box about how dangerous illegible prescriptions can be if filled incorrectly due to poor penmanship... Please take the extra time to think about the next guy down the line from your high and mighty throne "doc"!!!
