Ripped off renter now seeing red

So who exactly protects renters? Is it legal to rent a property that is in foreclosure proceedings without full disclosure? Does the soon to be non-owner have the right to collect rent and keep security deposits knowing that the property will be transferred to the bank? What recourse does a renter have when notified three months after they have moved in that the owner is not longer the owner, and can fuck off with your deposit (we all know no one gets that back), and you have to move because the bank is auctioning off the property? Cross reference my friends. Especially the apartments turned into condos. Check out Charleston County Clerk of Court online search with your proposed rental property address BEFORE you move in! Unless you like giving your hard earned money to non-bill paying screw-ups.
