An end-of-season clearance sale is kicking off tomorrow at high-end boutique Mary Norton. Going on for three days, the sale includes everything from past-season to sample merchandise, with markdowns as high as 90 percent. While some of the store's items are usually priced into the high hundreds, you might just find you're able to afford something marked down so significantly. (Do the math: 90 percent off $900 is $90.) Prices will start around $30 and slowly make their way up in pricing to the top-of-the-line items, all sales being final. The store will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Wed., 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thurs., and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fri.
Mary Norton, a Charleston resident, started making bags at home under the name Moo Roo. Over the years, the entrepreneur has created an internationally-popular line frequently seen in the pages of fashion magazines and clutched by starlets on the red carpet. The L.A. Times affectionately called Norton “the red carpet bag lady.”
