Sandwiched between Jimmy John's and Caviar & Bananas on George Street, the House of Sage joined the ranks of Charleston's boutiques last week. The boutique features eco-friendly clothes for men and women. But don't get the wrong idea — you won't find any hemp necklaces or hippie skirts here. The selection is super-stylish, with prices ranging from a men's T-shirt for $25 to an evening dress for $220. Chic miscellaneous items like wire bowls and natural wine racks will be featured along with fun accessories from brands like Diana Warner and JJ Winters.

The store is owned and operated by Chris Abagnale, and his goal is to provide a low-pressure environment where you can relax and shop at your own pace. There's even a lounge with a couch and a flat screen TV in the back for all of you non-shoppers.

The official grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 2-4, coinciding not so coincidentally with Parents' Weekend at the College of Charleston. Students who come to the weekend-long event with their parents will receive a discount. Local art and fashion designers are slated to be on sale soon after the store's official opening.

See some of the store's merchandise on their Facebook page, and stay up to date with new arrivals and sales via Twitter. Call (843) 573-7256 or just stop by 51 George Street to check it out. They're open Mon.- Sat., 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sun., 12-5 p.m.
