Pearl will host a Goods of Conscience trunk show on Thurs. Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at their Shem Creek store. The men's, women's, and accessories line is the brainchild of Father Andrew O'Connor after a 2005 trip to Guatemala. O'Connor witnessed the extreme poverty of the people and sought to create a fair economic model that would also preserve the traditional Mayan backstrap weaving.
The organic Guatemalan clothing, which has received raves from Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, features women's shorts, jackets, dresses, and skirts, men's blazers, shirts, and pants, bags, scarves, hats, ties, and more. The line also has a variety of home goods ranging from placemats to Christmas ornaments. O'Connor will be speaking about his line at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. and urges you to "choose to wear the social fabric." For more information, call Pearl at (843) 654-1014.
